It is 48 kHz, verified that my canopus settings match. No matter what I do, the results are exactly the same on both computers, despite varying cables, devices, tapes, switches, etc. I’ve tried quicktime, iMovie, and FCE.

I’d suggest you trash the FCE Preferences before proceeding as all the switching things around can cause another set of dramas. Not sure why it would show up under the profiler but not the system network preferences. Worked like a charm. User profile for user: I have carefully turned off the ADVC and tried every possible combination of switch settings.

I’ve tried two different FW cables not at the same time to two different FW inputs. I’ve carefully follwed the manual and the post above.
Dec 22, 9: The Analog-In light should be on. It comes into the computer, but I can’t get it out of the computer.
Need some smart brainy types which is all of you! The lights on the ADVC tell you if there is input to the box. Can you output from the D-vhs by firewire? So that takes some frustration away since we can at least watch them.
Ironically, i can’t seem to make the sound actually then play through the computer. At least you would know if the ADVC is kaput. Your current connection setup is conflicting. Or also check the ASDVC manual in order to switch off Macrovision usually inbuilt with Disney’s and many others’ American videos there is a button you press and hold it a few seconds light blink then stay still???

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? The screen remains blue and despite which set of options I use two different VCR’s or the Hi-8, trying different cables and such one at a time. Oddest thing, all of this worked 2 years ago when I did an video of advc-100 cancer ordeal. I’ve tried using quicktime to import the video.
