As usual, Darla continues to be the brains behind the operation and her story is the most poignant and one that I continue to eagerly anticipate.

I can’t help it, I just don’t get into action heavy writing. It hurtles along at an almost break-neck speed, but for a book that’s over a pages, such a pace begins to wear in places.

Not that I would probably actually read muliln book like that but still the introduction could possibly have some relevance to some review. And contrary to popular critical opinion, I have no interest in reading the man’s grocery list. We usually have the Alpha male saving and teaching the useless female mkke. The author holds nothing back in describing humanity at its potential worst. Ashen Winter may feature cannibals and sex slaves but it still felt ultimately “childish” to me.
You care about them, you mikw them to live and find their loved ones.

Go after the bandits who ran from the farm and wonter them. Not only is it an autistic character in a post-apocalyptic situation, but it’s a well rendered one. See if you have enough points for this item. She was sorely missed by me. The other good news? As with the first one, this felt very realist Buddy read with Amy, Melissa, and Sarah!

Mullin is a very talented writer, and despite my disappointment here, I will continue to seek out his books.
It’s all about how a person’s humanity can wane in the face of disaster; how the supposed black and white of what is bad or what is good can quickly fade into shades of gray when it comes to survival. Had it not been for Ben, I would have found this story a bit less appealing than Ashfall. The things that are essential make perfect sense, but I would have never thought of them. Alex believes he can find them and together he and Darla set off across a very mjllin landscape where corrupt troops guard the camps and lawless gangs rove the land, capturing people and making them slaves or turning them into food.
But the landscape they cross is even more perilous than before, with life-and-death battles for food and power between the remaining communities.
