I read it from cover to cover and never lost focus. I like this book that it is written in different point of views through the journal formats, it gives the readers a more comprehensive idea about the book. But, all the problems had started for Emako when her brother, Donte, comes back from jail.

Overall,this is a very good book that i recommend for others to read. The book starts off with Emako’s funeral I think. She was an amazing singer, already offered a record deal. Jamal bluue in love with her. Emako Blue was supposed to be a star. Jamal, and Savannah wants to finish high school and move on Brenda Woods did a mighty work on the novel Emako Blue.

And actually reading it didn’t help anything either. Since you heard the story through different people it was easy to follow what was emamo on. In fact, the only obscenity here is that Brenda Woods can write such a heartbreaking story and have it ring so utterly true in America. This short, succinct, and poignant story of friendship, family, and overwhelming sadness will leave some readers in tears.
The characters are believable because facing violence is a very common theme whether it be in real life or in the media.
