It did a nice job of showing off the newer world and helped set the stage for Guild Wars 2. Also, playing the game helped me connect with this book even more. We know the trap is there. That may have been what made Dougal most uncomfortable of all. The end was sudden and I missed the way back, and know what happen in the end with our heroes. As for the extinction of the Dwarves The authors did a really good job with this novel, the characters are are all real personalities with believable motivations and inner workings.
