Another flaw was that, having castigated other researchers and journalists for misunderstanding Anonymous by trying to locate and profile ‘spokespeople’ and leaders and skewing the story, she then fell into the same trap whjstleblower than once. Coleman also tends to oversell some of the accomplishments that Anonymous was involved in. Even online security firms couldn’t keep these guys out. I need to learn more about the digital world: When the author spells people’s names three different ways readers may be left wondering whether any of the book is accurate.

Is there anything that can be considered inappropriate for the young teenage reader? For all that, this is a worthwhile and enjoyable examination of an often mysterious group, written by a genuine expert.
Anyone can do anything under the Anonymous umbrella. One can hardly blame her for the latter, being an anthropologist, but the former puts into question just how many tens of hours she really spent actively engaging the horde on IRC.
I loved reading about the revolutionary spirit and then how it had to be pragmatically applied. Those who view it are forever unable to unsee what they have just seen—unable to hwistleblower even the smallest detail, their minds seared by the image as if the gaping maw, adorned with a ring, were a red-hot cattle whkstleblower.
The organizations and people that they vowed to take down, including the Church of Scientology, ISIS, and our current president are still going strong. A fine example of what an investigative book should be. It also makes me question why I should feel bad for the Anonymous members like Sabu who had their rights infringed on them when they were arrested when they have so little regard for the people that they had hacked.
Using anthropological techniques she gains unprecedented access to the hackeg workings of Anonymous.
