One of my all time favorite books from Wrede, I keep this one constantly loaded on my nook. We pulled Mairelon the Magician out next and started reading. She started writing in seventh grade.

It had loads of potential, with Kim going from gutter thief to a crime-solving magician. The last three are set in the same ghe period but different nations while the first two are space widely apart chronologically and happen well before the events of the last three.
